UFC Fight Night 77 winner Thomas Almeida gunning for UFC title

“I’m very happy to be able to show my work, to be able to show my team’s work; I feel fulfilled,” Almeida told MMAjunkie through an interpreter. “I want more, I want more challenges. I’m here for that. I want to grow in the event and I’m always going after my dream, which is to have the belt and defend the title for a very long time. I’m very happy, I’m young, I have my mind in the right place and I’m very happy.”

“Everything is working out and this is many years of work; I’m very happy,” Almeida said. “I had a few injuries in this camp and I got to take care of that to begin the year well. I’m a UFC employee, whoever they put in front of me I’m going to work hard and do my best and look for a victory as always.”

Almeida (20-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) got his third knockout in four UFC appearances when he stopped Anthony Birchak (12-3 MMA, 1-2 UFC) with strikes in the first round at UFC Fight Night 77 in Sao Paulo.
