Anthony Johnson calls out Alexander Gustafsson

Johnson took to Facebook late Wednesday night to respectfully call out the onetime former title challenger, arguing a fight between them is a matter of necessity.
“I respect you as a fighter but this is business,” he wrote. “@danawhite said our fight makes sense. There’s nobody left for us to fight plus the fans are begging for us to fight so let’s give the fans what they wanna see!”

Ronda Rousey eyes UFC 182 slot, says Gina Carano 'worst style matchup for me'

“Gina is the worst style matchup for me possible,” Rousey told MMAjunkie. “She’s the only girl that I feel like has the best feeling and the best sense of distance."

“There are very few women that have had one-punch knockout power. There are other girls that they overwhelm the other person. They get TKOs and stuff like that. But Gina has one-punch knockout power, and that’s the kind of person that I have to be the most cautious of. That’s the style that’s the worst for me, and ever since the beginning, I’ve been positive that Gina is the worst style matchup for me.”

“The feeling of distance and timing and feeling and all that, that stuff doesn’t go away if you take time off,” Rousey said. “Those things are always with you. That’s your bicycle."

“And I’m sure Gina is 100 percent serious about it. She is not going to start training once the fight is announced. She’s already been training for months and months and months. I think she’s already started quite a while ago, and she only has me in mind, and so I expect that she’s going to be extremely prepared and a very dangerous opponent despite what other people would like to speculate.”“I desperately want to fight on the Jon Jones-Cormier card,” Rousey said. “I want to be able to share that card with Jon just to be able to say I have.”

Following fighter complaints, Dana White says octagon canvas changes in the works

“We’ve been working on it forever,” White told MMAjunkie. “We’ve literally been working on that forever.”

White’s comments came from complaints from UFC women’s bantamweight Sara McMann

“I didn’t like the canvas, and there’s sand on it,” McMann said post-fight. “I found sand all over my body and I had a little bit of sand in my eye. I’ve fought on canvases like that before. … I don’t know about the other fighters, but I was really struggling because I use a lot of dynamic movement. I really push hard off my feet when I was standing and then I drive a lot off my toes. I think it got a little bit in my head that I slipped a couple times on my feet. When I was pushing, my legs were slipping out from under me.”

“It shouldn’t have been a problem,” McMann said. “But I’m a little disappointed to say it did get in my head a little bit. It’s not going to in the future.

“The sandy stuff is that spray that we spray on there that makes it sticky,” White said. “It does, it gets all sandy. It just happened to all the girls on ‘The Ultimate Fighter.’ We are actually looking at a couple of different options for that right now too. We’re trying some new things.”

Michael Bisping on UFC losses to Belfort, Sonnen and Silva: 'They weren't clean'

“They weren’t clean,” Bisping told MMAjunkie. “We all know they weren’t f–king clean. They’ve only just started doing blood tests. People have been taking (human) growth hormone and EPO and all kinds of s–t for years. A urine sample will only show certain things, and people know when to come off stuff. It’s an IQ test. The blood test they do now will catch more people because they’re testing for more things, but they didn’t do that before.”

“Vitor is not going to be the same,” Bisping said. “You can already see it. His physique looks remarkably different already. Of course, since this all kicked off in when he got tested, he’s obviously been clean since then, and that was six, seven months ago and you can see the difference. It’s going to be very interesting when you see Vitor at the weigh-in (at UFC 181 against Chris Weidman) and you see his physique compared to the last few times he’s fought and the guy looked like he was in a bodybuilding contest.”

“I’ve never done anything in my entire life,” Bisping said. “Today I was the first one to the gym. I was f–king kicking pads while people were just chatting away about what they had for dinner last night. Now the next class is halfway through and I’ve only just f–king finished. I do it the hard way and I work my f–king ass off.
“We’re trying to knock each other’s f–king heads off. We’re not trying to put a ball in a basket. The situation is horrible.”
