Miesha Tate interested in Kaufman, Holm, but would fight Gina Carano 'right now'

“I’d like it,” Tate said at the presser. “I’ll take that fight all day long, for sure. I mean, I’ll fight anybody, but I’d love to fight Gina.”

Tate, who lost in previous outings against champ Ronda Rousey and Cat Zingano, spoke up after UFC President Dana White reiterated Carano’s position with the promotion and expressed confidence in signing a deal. Carano (7-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC), who walked away from the sport in 2009 to pursue an acting career, remains under contract with UFC parent Zuffa until June.
“I’m confident that we will (sign a new deal), but we’ll see what happens,” White said. “Until we have a deal, we’re not even thinking about anything.”

Wanderlei Silva injured back in Sonnen brawl, had to postpone fight

“What happened was Wanderlei got hurt in that fight,” White said following Wednesday’s TUF Nations Finale. “He got double legged on the concrete and he hurt his back. He hurt his hand punching Chael in the head and he got injured.
“He couldn’t fight on time because he got hurt in the fight f—ing coaching a show. I’m done being angry now. I was angry when it happened. It’s just disgusting.”
“There’s a bunch of idiots in the media saying, ‘That thing looks contrived,’” White said. “It was far from contrived. That thing was a disgusting display of what shouldn’t happen, and if I was there it would have never happened.
“The fact that there were other people, even people holding camera in that f–king place and let that happen is just beyond belief. Then the kid who runs in and sucker-punched Chael from behind, it’s just as bad as it can get.”

Vitor Belfort 'embarrassed' by Chael Sonnen-Wanderlei Silva 'TUF: Brazil 3' brawl

Belfort posted on Facebook on Monday night to condemn the brawl between Wanderlei Silva andChael Sonnen that broke out on the set of “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3.”
“The cat fight between Silva and Sonnen embarrassed me,” wrote Belfort in Portugese.
“Firstly, MMA is not fighting people not prepared inside the Octagon,” he wrote. “That’s what I do. Secondly, there is no more room for a sport like MMA to accept this behavior when [the sport] has clear rules for anti-sport attitudes both inside and outside the Octagon. Third and most importantly, MMA cannot, ever, influence behaviors where the discussion ends in aggression as if this was the appropriate model of behavior. Millions of young people suffer violence inside and outside the school, and the TV cannot be propelling this behavior and athletes must not represent any violent attitude by lack of control, whatever the provocation.”
“MMA fighters should, as a matter of urgency, be aware that the behavior inside and outside of the octagons can influence millions of people for better or for worse, and I chose influence for good because MMA also picked this way. Anything outside of that is no longer MMA, [and] definitely doesn’t represent me.”

UFC champ Jones: 'I would have to be one of the biggest draws right now'

“I would imagine that I would have to be one of the biggest draws right now in the sport, especially with Anderson (Silva) and Georges not being around,” Jones told MMAjunkie. “But I don’t think about that too much. My biggest thing is winning fights. Winning fights and growing more comfortable in my own skin each year. I’m really happy where I’m at right now.”

He even apologized to Rousey for a previous interview in which he said the UFC is favoring the women’s champ, which put her on the defensive.
“I want to go on record by saying I hope I didn’t offend Ronda at all with saying that the UFC may be pushing her more than they push me,” he said. “I was just stating the way that I felt and using her as an example. But I’m a huge fan of her, and I think I make it pretty clear what I think of her. I think she’s an amazing inspiration and an athlete, and she’s awesome in every way. Ronda, you’re my girl. I hope she hears that.”
